    MTL Technologies in Chambly, a refrigerated display case manufacturer, is looking to hire about 20 workers to support and increase its production
    The Government of Quebec is investing $200M in modernizing the Saint-Jérôme regional hospital's operation area and intensive care. This project, which is divided into four phases, will be executed over the next six years.
    The Centre d'appui aux communautés immigrantes (CACI) has announced the construction of its new Montréal head office. This project has an estimated value of over $10M and is scheduled to be finished during the summer of 2019.
    The Government of Quebec has announced an investment of close to $19M to build an elementary school in Longueuil
    Boulangerie Auger in Saint-Jérôme will acquire the Betty brand from the Montréal-based Boulangerie Lanthier. This transaction, scheduled for December, will retain about 50 jobs and create 30 in Saint-Jérôme.
    The Government of Quebec announced a $4M grant to expand the Brome-Missisquoi Municipal Waste Management Board's composting facilities in Cowansville, a project valued at an estimated $12M
    The Government of Quebec allocated $17.4M in expanding and connecting the natural gas distribution network in the municipality of Sainte-Clotilde to the town of Saint-Rémi in Montérégie
    The City of Montréal announced that work has begun on îlot Clark located in the Quartier des spectacles. This $74M project will include an outdoor skating rink and a multipurpose building, among other things. It is scheduled to open by the end of 2019.
    Primeau Vélo is officially opening a new store in Blainville. This location required an investment of over $4M and will create 30 jobs in its first year.
    The Sports Complex - indoor soccer - arena - running track, which will go by the name Girardin, will be built in Drummondville for between $15M and $20M. The Government of Quebec and the company Girardin are contributing financially to the project.
    The City of Plessisville will acquire a new outdoor pool, which will be accessible in June 2019. A portion of the $1.7M investment will be financed by the provincial government.
    The Municipality of Saint-Cyrille-de-Wendover will invest about $800,000 in renovating Guèvremont Park. The provincial government will subsidize the project, which will be completed in 2019.

    The Port of Québec has announced a $30M investment in partnership with the Government of Quebec and Québec City to build a second cruise ship terminal, which is expected to be operational in 2020.
    Davie Shipbuilding in Lévis announced the layoff of 147 workers due to a slowdown in activities
    Domaine Élie-Raphael, an old-age home and intermediate resource in Rivière-du-Loup, is being built. This $4.5M investment will create 14 jobs once open in November.
    The City of Cap-Santé announced a $5M investment with the Government of Quebec to build a new municipal complex including a city hall, fire station, and municipal garage
    Groupe TAQ, a company specializing in subcontract manufacturing and postal preparation in Québec City, is investing $14M in building a new head office and expanding its activities. The company plans to create 225 jobs.

    Owl's Head in Potton is investing over $162M to maximize its service offering and become a four-season tourist resort. The Government of Quebec will support the project financially over 7 years. This investment is expected to result in 188 new jobs.
    Molson Coors is investing close to $500M in building a plant in Longueuil, in the borough of Saint-Hubert, specifically. The new brewery should be in operation by 2022.
    The Government of Quebec has granted financial aid exceeding $2.9M to extend a network of drinking water and sewage pipelines in Yamachiche. Details are scanty regarding the progress of this work, whose estimated value is over $7M.
    La société Barrette, a Sainte-Thècle-based company in the lumber industry, recently acquired Cèdart-Tech, which filed for bankruptcy last year. The new sawmill intends to hire approximately thirty employees by the autumn.
    The Government of Quebec has granted $660,000 to Services industriels mauriciens to support its expansion, estimated at a cost of $2.5M. The company, which specializes in steel and aluminum, hopes to double its production capacity and hire eight employees.
    Les Pavages Chenail, a company specializing in asphalt concrete whose headquarters are in Saint-Rémi, has been acquired by the French company Eurovia. Over 50 workers are sought to join the existing employees.
    The federal government is providing $1M to build 10 multi-family residences in order to improve living conditions for the Anichinabe Indigenous community in Lac-Simon

    L.B. Maple Treat (LBMT), one of the world's largest pure maple syrup processors, will invest some $4.5M to relocate by autumn 2019 to a new plant, still in Granby, and to acquire new equipment
    The Integrated Health and Social Services Centre of Montérégie-West (CISSSMO) has officially opened its new ophthalmology clinic in the Desjardins Health Centre in Châteauguay, following an investment of $9.5M from various partners
    The Contemporary Arts Centre in Sorel-Tracy is investing $1.3M to be rebuilt, thanks to the financial participation of various partners including the federal, provincial and municipal governments. Phase 1 will be completed in 2019.
    The governments of Canada and Quebec have granted over $8M to the Municipality of Saint-Liguori to install a water supply system. Construction began on August 7 and will continue for approximately 4 months.
    The City of Warwick, together with Transports Québec, is investing close to $2M to restructure a section of highway 116 near the entrance to Léo-Beauchesne industrial park. The work should end on October 19.
    Valleyfield Harbour, located in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, is investing over $7.25M to have a warehouse and storage area built. At present, 60% of their capacity has already been filled.

    Kruger Packaging, located in Montréal, has invested $20M to modernize its factories in LaSalle and Place Turcot
    A Shell service station with a Super-Soir convenience store will be built in Clermont following a $2M investment. The opening is planned for December.
    The Dam-en-Terre Resort in Alma has announced, in partnership with the governments of Quebec, Canada, and the City of Alma, a $1.8M investment to build a new harbour master's office
    The New France site in Saint-Félix-d'Otis has announced, in collaboration with the City and both other levels of government, a $1.4M investment to build a new wharf and to improve its facilities
    Ubisoft in Chicoutimi has announced a $6.6M investment to restructure and improve its premises. Furthermore, a 10-year lease has been signed with the building's owners.
    CAE, a flight-simulator manufacturer in Montréal, in partnership with the governments, has announced an investment of close to $1B over 5 years in a digital-intelligence development project. Approximately 335 jobs will need to be created.
    The Montréal Transport Board (STM) has announced a $32M investment to improve the Berri-UQAM subway station. Construction is expected to last 2 years.
    A Hudson's Bay store will close in Saint-Léonard in late September. Approximately 80 workers are expected to lose their job.
    The Government of Canada has announced an investment of close to $4M to à Gaspé to improve the runway at Michel-Pouliot airport
    The Government of Canada has announced that it has signed over the harbours in Matane, Rimouski, Gaspé and Gros-Cacouna to the Government of Quebec. This agreement comes with an amount of $163M to be used to improve infrastructures by March 2020.
    Hudson's Bay will open a store in the Carrefour Angrignon in the borough of LaSalle at the end of August. The company is currently hiring.

    Foliot Furniture, a hotel and student residence furniture manufacturer, is building a second facility in Mirabel. This new melamine panel plant should be up and running by late fall.
    The Government of Quebec is contributing close to $3.5M to nine projects in the Lanaudière region as part of its Programme de soutien aux installations sportives et récréatives
    The Government of Quebec is allocating a total of $4.6M to three Quebec universities to create a multidisciplinary expertise hub in the sustainable management of Lake Saint-Pierre
    Berso, a store specializing in various baby and maternity products, is investing $2.5M to open on the South Shore of Montréal. The company plans to hire about 20 employees for its spring opening.
    Construction will soon start on a residence with 24 social housing units for seniors in Saint-Donat. The project's funds, which are over $5.9M, come from the federal and provincial governments and other financial sources.

    Maurice Lamontagne Institute in Mont-Joli currently has 450 employees after having hired 325 this past February. This Fisheries and Oceans Canada research centre is hiring 30 researchers as well as biologists and technicians.
    More than 300 jobs are posted on the Rivière-du-Loup RCM's website, including some for the region's McDonald's restaurants, which are in constant need staff and are experiencing recruitment difficulties
    Les Pâtes Alpha will invest $600,000 in increasing productivity at its Rivière-du-Loup plant and establishing a new production unit in Saint-Cyprien, which will create 25 jobs over the next three years

    A corner store specializing in microbrewery beers will be built in Beauport following $2M in investments, which will create about 15 jobs once open in early October. Job interviews will start shortly.
    Les Rôtisseries St-Hubert in the Greater Québec City region are having recruitment difficulties, especially for part-time jobs. The 11 locations are using their online job platforms to find required staff.
    The Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC) will open two locations in Québec City and one in Lévis. These marijuana outlets plan to open in time for cannabis legalization, scheduled for October 17.
    La P'tite Grenouille in Saint-Georges permanently closed on July 30. This music bar opened in April 2017.
    Janine, a brunch restaurant, will open in Verdun. Its opening is scheduled for fall 2018 and should create 30 jobs.
    Jean Dumas Multiconcessionnaire in Saint-Félicien has acquired Auto Manic Honda in Baie-Comeau. The amount of this transaction was not divulged.
    The governments of Quebec and Canada have announced a joint investment of $468M in Baie-Comeau to improve Highway 389 until Fermont
    Hôtel Universel and Notre Hôtel in Alma invested, with the support of the Government of Canada, $1.7M in improving their facilities. Work is expected to be complete for September.
    F. Ménard, a pork processing company in the Municipality of Ange-Gardien, will invest $4.5M in expanding its slaughterhouse. A second work shift will be added and hiring will take place once work is completed.
    Gordon Food Service in Boucherville announced, with the Government of Quebec, an investment of $51M to improve and expand its facilities. This project should create 35 jobs.
    Bromont, montagne d'expériences, with the Government of Quebec, will invest $76M in the second phase of modernizing and developing its facilities. This project includes building 200 accommodation units.
    The Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC) will open a location in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu in October and is looking for full-time and part-time employees to provide service seven days a week
    The Government of Quebec is granting $469,900 to Auberge du Lac Taureau to build a hosting space for group and snowmobiling activities

    A major housing project will take shape in Joliette over the next four years. Place des Oliviers involves building 29 rental buildings, representing a total investment of $40M.
    Raufoss Canada, an automobile parts company in Boisbriand, is receiving financial support from the Government of Quebec to train workers, at a total cost of over $3M, resulting in the creation of 52 jobs
    Gérodon and Bedcolab, its Laval subsidiary specializing in laboratory equipment manufacturing, plans to create about 20 jobs after receiving financial assistance from the Quebec government under the PME en action program
    Beginning this fall, with completion in summer 2019, the rest stop on Highway 20 in Villeroy will be renovated thanks to an investment of about $9M by the Government of Quebec
    La Fromagerie La Station in Compton, a cheese manufacturer, is investing $2.8M to expand and purchase a machine to better meet increased demand in the ripened cheese segment of the market. The federal government is contributing financially to the project.
    Masonite International Corporation, a door manufacturer, is investing $8.5M to consolidate its distribution centre in a single location in Windsor in late spring 2019. About 20 employees are needed to work in all departments.
    Ô Taberna! - Frigibière, a retailer specializing in beer from Quebec microbreweries, has opened in Magog
    Jesta, a property developer, has announced the start of renovation work on the former Viger station in Montréal, a $100M project. The plan is to build three buildings including a hotel, grocery store and rental housing
    St-Hubert in Magog has reopened following reconstruction of the ceiling in the restaurant's main dining room, which collapsed last May. About 30 new employees have been hired to offset resignations.
    Labatt is investing $1.8M to expand and increase efficiency at its Sherbrooke distribution centre by the end of October. New employees may be hired to join the existing 36.
    A Valentine restaurant will open this fall in the former Tim Hortons location on Larivière Avenue in Rouyn-Noranda. The opening should create 14 jobs.
    Rio Tinto and the Government of Quebec have announced the signing of a new agreement in Arvida extending operations of the prebake cell facilities until 2025. The $200M investment will ensure retention of the existing 1,000 jobs.

    Réseau Sélection has announced a $50M investment to build a 233-unit residential retirement complex in Chicoutimi. Delivery of the first units is scheduled for fall 2019 and 35 jobs will be created.
    The Government of Quebec is allocating over $449,000 to two projects to improve the living conditions of seniors in the Nord-du-Québec region
    Boefish, a Sherbrooke restaurant, and the provincial government invested in a new congress centre in order to recruit 30 future employees to help realize a conference, banquet, catering and bar concept
    The federal government is investing more than $26M to build a new dump in Iqaluit. The City will be contributing $8.7M to the project, which will begin in fall 2019 and should be completed by October 2020.
    The Government of Quebec announced expansion of the École de technologie supérieure in Montréal. At an estimated cost of $55M, this project involves construction of a new building to address the growing student population.
    Premier Tech Group équipements industriels is seeking employees for positions in engineering, mechanical, electrical, and programming in Rivière-du-Loup. Premier Tech's growth has slowed due to recruitment problems.
    The Notre-Dame-du-Lac hospital has developed a strategy to try to resolve a problem recruiting nurses. The situation is due to the release of the placement agency that was to have filled the positions this summer.
    Conception Navale FMP in Chandler is investing $2M in construction of a building and purchase of production equipment, creating six jobs. The company builds and repairs boats and maintains engines.
    The launch of Eon Art Canada will create five jobs in the RCM of Rocher-Percé. Eon Art, which received a repayable contribution from Canada Economic Development, specializes in the manufacture of amplifiers and speakers.
    Eight projects will take place in the RCM of Rocher-Percé thanks to almost $1.7M in contributions from Canada Economic Development. More than $7M will be invested in total, creating 30 jobs.
    Recyclage Arctic Béluga has closed down in Shawinigan. This company specialized in the demolition of industrial buildings and materials salvage.
    Kerry in Sainte-Claire is currently completing the installation of a new production line, which should go into operation in a few weeks. About 30 new workers will be hired.
    Association lavalloise des personnes aidantes (ALPA), a caregivers' association, has announced the opening of a multi-service centre for caregivers in Laval. The opening created about 12 positions.

    Wes Industries, an ATV and snowmobile accessories manufacturer, is investing $2.4M to expand its facilities in Princeville with a loan granted by Développement économique de L'Érable
    Vélomania, a bicycle and maintenance shop, will move to a different location in Sherbrooke for next October or November. More than $1.5M will be invested.
    The rest stop at exit 228 of Highway 20 at Saint-Louis-de-Blandford now hosts a variety of outlets, including A&W, Tim Hortons, Marché Express, and Ultramar, a total investment of $7M. The operators want to fill over 60 jobs.
    A nine-unit residential building will be constructed in Drummondville thanks to a $1.3M investment. Tenants will be able to move in starting in October.
    Domtar, a paper pulp manufacturer in Windsor, will invest almost $5M to incorporate new biomass processing technologies. The Government of Canada will invest $1.89M of this total.
    The City of Richmond unveiled its new wells at its water treatment plant. At a cost of $800,000, the project was achieved thanks to financial contributions from the Governments of Canada and Quebec.

    Behavox, a British artificial intelligence and data analysis company, has announced that it will open a new research and development centre in Montréal. This expansion will create 200 jobs in the next three years.
    Appalaches Nature, based in Thetford Mines, will build a plant to produce and process 100% natural sweeteners (e.g. maple syrup, honey). This investment is valued at almost $36M and will create 37 jobs.

    Groupe Lebel will hire some 15 employees in Témiscouata. These hirings, lasting for periods of 12 to 25 weeks, will make it possible to add a work shift at the Dégelis plant starting on October 16 and to reopen a small sawmill in Squatec.

    In Québec City, CDI College will close its campus on Honoré-Mercier Avenue in February 2019, with the declining number of students cited as the reason for the closure. Some 20 administrative and teaching positions will be abolished.
    WestRock recently signed new contracts totalling $7M. Fifteen new positions have been made available, and two hiring fairs will be held on November 3 and 4 at 433 First Avenue in Sainte-Marie (Beauce).
    La Bourgade, a cheese factory in Thetford Mines, will move to Frontenac Boulevard. A fast-food restaurant is also scheduled to be built as part of the project. In all, 12 full-time and 6 to 10 part-time jobs will be created.
    An elementary school is currently under construction in Saint-Lin-Laurentides. This $17M project, which follows sustainable development principles, will be completed for July 2018.
    Progi.com, a Trois-Rivières-based software development company, requires an additional 40 employees. The firm, which has hired over 40 people over the past 5 years, has seen its growth slowed by this shortage of workers.
    GROUPÉ Mauricie-Rive-Sud is organizing an event that will put some fifteen information technology firms in contact with potential employees. The activity will take place on October 19 in the Cogeco Amphitheatre in Trois-Rivières.
    The Centre de formation professionnelle Bel-Avenir in Trois-Rivières would be able to offer cooking training to additional groups if the student base were larger. According to the Centre, every student would have a job upon graduating.

    The Comité régional pour la valorisation de l'éducation signed a funding partnership agreement with Bridgestone Canada, Inc. in Joliette. Over the next five years, $10,000 will be given annually to the organization.
    TC Media has given up two weekly newspapers in the Laurentides: Le Nord, which was sold, and Le Mirabel, which didn't find a buyer. Le Nord's employees will keep working, but Le Mirabel's nine employees will lose their jobs.
    Groupe Mach Inc. has started reconstruction work on the Plaza Sainte-Thérèse. By the time this two-phase project is completed in 2019, Groupe Mach Inc. will have invested $25M.
    The Matawinie RCM invested in a project to modernize the Saint-Michel-des-Saints sawmill, which consolidates about 50 jobs in the region
    Bâtimo and Capital Property Development CPD Inc. announced the Lib project, a 204-unit residential complex for retirees in Pointe-Claire. This project of over $43M will welcome its first residents in September 2018.
    The City of Montréal announced the construction of a recycling centre by the Compagnie De Recyclage De Papiers M D Inc. at a cost of almost $50M. The company will also be responsible for running the centre.
    The Information and Referral Centre of Greater Montreal and Centraide of Greater Montreal announced the arrival in April 2018 of Service 211, a centralized information service giving access to the social and community resources available in Greater Montréal's 82 municipalities
    Netflix, a television streaming service , announced a $500M investment over five years to produce original television content in Canada
    SAIL, an outdoors superstore, confirmed the construction of a new store in Chicoutimi, which will open in 2018. The company is investing $12M in constructing a building of over 50,000 square feet, which will provide work to about 100 people.
    The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue (CISSS-AT) announced the upcoming arrival of 52 nurse practitioners specializing in primary care. This is one of the organization's three priorities.
    The BMR hardware store in Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan is closing because it is having difficulty finding local workers and competition is increasing. The closure represents a loss of some 10 jobs.
    The emergency department at the CLSC Petite-Nation is increasing its hours of operation from 40 to 84 a week. Scheduled for early 2018, this service increase follows a recurring annual investment of $940,000 from the Government of Quebec.
    The Resolute Forest Products plant in Alma is getting ready to restart paper machine number 9. Currently, about 40 jobs are available, including some for electricians, mechanics, and operators.
    L&S Cranberry in Saint-Lucien has just invested $3M in a high surface area freezer. Currently, the company provides permanent work to almost 30 employees and seasonal work to more than 100 people.
    SOPREMA started major renovations to its Drummondville plant, which represents an investment of about $5M. Built in 1984, this was SOPREMA's first plant in North America.
    OTL Gouverneur Sherbrooke reopened on August 31 following a $3.5M investment. The reopening will create 125 jobs, including about 30 full-time positions.
    The Commission scolaire des Chic-Chocs is looking for some teachers, computer technicians, special education technicians, and a psychoeducator. It's also facing a shortage of teaching staff for replacements.
    Soudure Jones Enr. in Port-Daniel-Gascons has doubled its number of employees since McInnis Cement arrived in the region and now has 24 workers
    The Microbrasserie au Frontibus opened in Gaspé after months of construction and an investment of almost $1M. In addition to four shareholders, four employees were hired. A few more are needed during bottling periods.
    The TechnoCentre éolien in Gaspé hired eight new employees over the past year. Working in research, development, and technical assistance for businesses, the TechnoCentre had a record year pertaining to contracts in 2016/2017.
    Marmen Énergie in Matane, East Coast Wind in Maria, and LM Wind Power Canada in Gaspé continue to hire in the wind energy sector. This summer, the Gaspésie region had over 700 manufacturer jobs, which is near the historic peak recorded in 2013.
    Sani-Sable L.B. inc. in Maria won the contract to restore the bridge over Cascapédia River in New Richmond, valued at close to $6.2M. The business owner is looking for carpenters, heavy equipment operators, and signallers, among others.
    McInnis Cement in Port-Daniel-Gascons opened on September 25 and currently employs 100 workers. The company should create 400 jobs, including 150 at the plant, when the production objective is met in two years.
    The Fleuve-et-des-Lacs and Kamouraska-Rivière-du-Loup school boards each received $1.3M to hire staff. This resulted in the creation of 37 jobs, including 25.5 teaching positions at the elementary and preschool levels.
    Coup de main à domicile in Rimouski is managing a growing demand for its services, resulting in staffing needs. Moreover, employees are heading toward retirement. Recruitment is a challenge for the home support company.
    The Centre d'études collégiales La Tuque will start training courses on October 30 to meet client care attendant needs at the Centre de services du Haut-Saint-Maurice. Students admitted to the program are guaranteed a job there.
    Au Petit Palace, a restaurant In Sainte-Thècle where 15 employees were working during peak season, was destroyed by flames on August 28. Insurers told the owners that they would be able to rebuild.
    In 2018, GM Développement Inc. will begin a new building complex near the Vidéotron Center. The site will include the construction of four buildings: two office buildings, a hotel, and an entertainment and events centre.
    In partnership with each other, Immostar, Bâtimo, and Chartwell are investing $100M in redeveloping the Mail Cap-Rouge and adding a retirement home complex. In total, about 50 jobs will be created to meet the needs of residents.
    ALBI le Géant opened two new car dealerships in Mont-Tremblant: Nissan and Infiniti. The company will have invested $35M in this project, including the construction of infrastructure and inventory.
