- SOTI Inc., an information and communications technology firm, will invest $170.8M to build a new facility in Mississauga by July 2024, creating 725 jobs and supporting 410 positions
- The City of Toronto will invest $720M on 200+ infrastructure projects in 2018
- The Government of Ontario will invest up to $8.5M in Bonduelle Canada Inc. to support processing facility upgrades. The investment will create 87 new jobs while retaining more than 700 positions in Tecumseh, Ingersoll, and Strathroy.
- Mosaic Transit Group (Mosaic) secured a $2.5B contract from the Province of Ontario for the Finch West Light Rail Transit project. Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2018 and be completed in 2023, employing an estimated 600 workers.
- Mierins Automative Group of Ottawa is selling 10 dealerships and 2 collision centres to Toronto's Alpha Auto Group. Close to 550 employees will be offered positions in the new organization.
- The Government of Ontario will invest $8M in Comet Biorefining, Inc.to establish a new production plant in Sarnia. The investment will help to create 82 new jobs directly and 158 new jobs indirectly.
- Northern Transformer Corp., a manufacturer of electrical power transformers, will invest $39.1M to scale up production and invest in new equipment, creating 60 jobs and retaining 82 positions in Vaughan by 2024
- The Province of Ontario will invest $24M in 18 film and television productions, production facilities and services in Northern Ontario, bringing close to 100 jobs to the area during production
- Essar Steel Algoma Inc. in Sault Ste. Marie is actively recruiting for a broad range of positions to cover pending retirements
- Burloak Technologies Inc., a components manufacturer, will invest $80.5M to build a new 3D printing centre in Oakville by December 2022, creating 65 jobs and retaining 16 positions
- Mr. Pretzels International LLC is expanding into Ontario with eight new franchise locations scheduled to open over the summer
- A Park Inn by Radisson Hotel Group opened in Brampton
- Hotel X by Library Hotel Collection opened in Toronto
- Flying Colours Corp., an aviation service provider, is spending $30M to expand each of its facility divisions at Peterborough Airport. The expansion will create 60 new jobs over the next several years, while retaining 250 positions.
- The Government of Ontario will invest $10M over three years to establish the Gichi Kendaasiwan Centre at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay
- The Government of Ontario will invest $10M to support the creation of a new community hub in Stratford
- Capital Construction (2007) Inc. has been selected to build a new 15,000-sq.-ft. Student Centre at Laurentian University in Sudbury. The $10M project is expected to be completed by September 2019.
- Two new McDonald's restaurants of Canada Ltd. are scheduled to open in Milton
- The Lake Superior Centre for Regenerative Medicine, Inc. (RegenMed) bone and tissue bank is expanding through a partnership with the Province of Ontario, creating 27 jobs in Thunder Bay
- The Kawartha Credit Union will close its branches in Magnetawan and Emsdale on November 9
- Miovision Technologies Inc., a Kitchener-based traffic tech company has received $15M in investments to expand their work on using artificial intelligence and video traffic data to build "smart intersections"
Week of Apr 30 - May 04, 2018
- The Government of Ontario is investing $3M in Hanwha L&C Canada, Lamko Tool & Mold, Sciencetech Inc., Sikorski Sausages Co., Start.ca, and Zomaron Inc in London. The investment will create 283 new jobs, while retaining 435 positions.
- National Steel Car Ltd., plans to hire more than 250 employees at its Hamilton assembly plant largely due to CN Rail's plan to purchase 350 new lumber cars
- The Government of Ontario is investing up to $7M in Dr. Oetker Canada in London. The investment will create 103 new jobs, while retaining 115 positions at the food manufacturer.
- CPK Interior Products Inc., a manufacturer of interior automotive products, is planning an $8M expansion that will add 89 new jobs. Expected completion date is December 2020.
- Massey Hall, a performance venue in Toronto, will receive up to $60M from the federal and provincial governments towards an estimated $94M revitalization project
- Construction began on a $616M expansion of Hwy. 427 in Vaughan. The 6.6km extension will be completed in 2021.
- Griffith Foods Ltd. will receive up to $1.4M from the Province of Ontario towards a $14.2M investment to modernize and scale-up operations at its facility in Toronto, creating eight jobs and retaining 337 positions
- The Province of Ontario will invest $1.4M+ in 12 mining supply and services firms in Northern Ontario, creating 20 jobs

- Food manufacturer Mondelez Canada Inc. will receive up to $22.6M from the Province of Ontario towards a $130M modernization and expansion project in Toronto, supporting 450 jobs
- Ryerson University and Sheridan College will receive $90M from the Province of Ontario and up to $150M from the City of Brampton to establish a new postsecondary campus in Brampton by 2022
- Wilfrid Laurier University and Conestoga College will receive $90M from the Province of Ontario to establish a new postsecondary campus in Milton, near Toronto
- Construction on Phase 1 of Solmar Development Corp.¿s Edge Towers condominium project in Mississauga is expected to begin in May
- The Shorelines Casino Peterborough is under construction and will open in late summer, creating 150 jobs once completed
- Cineplex Odeon Orion Gate Cinemas in Brampton will be converted into a 45,000-sq.-ft. Playdium location with construction starting in September. The project will be completed by mid-2019, creating approximately 100 jobs.

- The Governments of Ontario and Canada announced joint funding of $6M for Frulact Canada Inc. to help establish a new food processing facility in Kingston. The investment will create 55 new full-time positions.
- Dishon Ltd., a precision machining and manufacturing company in Vaughan, will receive up to $1.3M from the Province of Ontario towards an investment of $13.8M, creating an estimated 54 jobs primarily for engineers, programmers and machinists by 2022
- Biigtigong Nishnaabeg First Nation, located approximately 350 km northeast of Thunder Bay, will receive $24M in funding from public and private partners to build an Education Complex. Construction is scheduled to begin in August.
- Construction of SOPREMA Canada's new factory in Woodstock has begun. Upon completion, the factory will create 50 new jobs.
- The Toronto Police Service is hiring 50 operators and three supervisors at the 911 Communications Services call centre
