    Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP), a Valcourt-based manufacturer of snowmobiles and other vehicles, was successful in filling 463 production positions during the summer. Welders, mechanics, and machinists are still needed.

    Impressions GB, a Coaticook-based company specializing in printing, will close on August 16. The number of job losses has not been specified.
    The J-Bar-C Steakhouse restaurant in Coaticook closed its doors in the last few days and will reopen in summer 2020. The number of employees temporarily laid off has not been disclosed.

    The Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC) will soon be opening three additional outlets in the province in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Granby and Montréal
    Kruger is investing $575M to build a tissue paper manufacturing plant in Sherbrooke. The provincial government will contribute $105M to the project. More than 180 people could be employed in the plant in spring 2021.
    Bureau en gros-Staples Canada, an office supply retailer, will be holding a one-day job fair on June 1 in all 305 of its stores across Canada. The company is looking to fill 1,000 positions in its stores and distribution centres.

    Corporation Ski & Golf Mont-Orford will be investing about $6M to expand and renovate the main lodge and to build an outside space for events. All of the work will be completed by November.
    Lambert Peat Moss is investing $6M in Rivière-Ouelle in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region and in Longue-Rive in Côte-Nord to expand its bagging plant and improve productivity. Some 15 jobs, including 10 in Rivière-Ouelle, will be created over the coming year.
    The Government of Quebec, in collaboration with a number of community partners, is creating a network of digital culture development officers. This initiative will result in the creation of some 40 officer positions across the province.
