Job requirements




Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience

Oil and Gas Well Drilling Worker Specific Skills

Record mud flows and volumes and take samples; Operate and maintain drilling mud systems and pumps; Operate and maintain drilling rig diesel motors, transmissions and other mechanical equipment; Assist in setting up, taking down and transporting drilling and service rigs; Align and manipulate sections of pipe or drill stem from a platform on the rig derrick

Oil and Gas Well Services Operator Specific Skills

Read gauges to interpret conditions and adjust pumping procedure; Operate hydraulic pumping systems; Mix chemicals and cements; Drive well services truck to well site; Attach pumps and hoses to wellhead

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)

Standard First Aid Certificate; Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate; Blowout Prevention Certificate; Air Brake (Z) Endorsement; Rig Worker Fall Protection


Experience an asset

Additional Skills

Write daily basic progress reports; Train and supervise floorhands, assistants and helpers
