The Youth Employment Fund provides an entry point to long-term employment for individuals who require a work experience opportunity as identified through their employment action plan. The individual will work for up to 18 consecutive weeks for at least 30 hours a week. Priority is given to employers who express an intent to retain the participant after the placement. Employers can either be a private sector business, a non-for-profit organization, a municipality, a provincial government department or agency or a First Nation community. This program is designed to provide youth with an opportunity to develop skills (through basic workplace training, mentoring and coaching from the employer), gain work experience and find jobs in the Province. A wage subsidy is available to support the placement and skills training that are linked to an available job. Interested employers can apply online or visit their regional office of the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour.
Anyone who can legally work in Canada can apply for this job. If you are not currently authorized to work in Canada, the employer will not consider your job application.
