Education

College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
or equivalent experience

  • Special Education and Teaching, General
  • Education/Teaching of Individuals in Early Childhood Special Education Programs
  • Occupational Therapy/Therapist

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)

First Aid Certificate; Behaviour management Certification; Developmental services worker¿(DSW)¿Training; HIGH FIVE training (principles of healthy child development); Intensive behavioural intervention Certification; Understanding and managing aggressive behaviour (UMAB) course; Relationship development intervention (RDI) training

Experience

1 to less than 7 months

Specific Skills
Resolve conflict situations; Implement behaviour management programs; Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs; Accompany clients to appointments and social outings
Experience with Special Needs Children
Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or attention deficit disorder (ADD)
Additional Skills
Housekeeping activities; Food preparation
