Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): 1st Class Marine Engineer Certificate. Transport Canada Marine Engineer Officer Certificate of Competency. Experience: 5 years or more. Additional Skills: Supervise and co-ordinate activities of engine room crew. Work Setting: Offshore drilling rig. Type of Experience: Mobile offshore drilling rig. Specific Skills: Operate main engines, machinery and auxiliary equipment on ships. Stand engine room watch, monitoring and noting performance of engines, machinery and all auxiliary equipment. Inspect and conduct maintenance and emergency repairs to engines, machinery and all auxiliary equipment. Maintain records and prepare reports on engine performance and failures. Security and Safety: Medical exam. Drug test. Criminal record check. Valid passport. Work Site Environment: Confined spaces. Dangerous. Outdoors. In/on water. Noisy.
