Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Oil and Gas Well Drilling Worker Specific Skills: Operate and maintain drilling rig diesel motors, transmissions and other mechanical equipment. Assist in setting up, taking down and transporting drilling and service rigs. Align and manipulate sections of pipe or drill stem from a platform on the rig derrick. Standard First Aid Certificate. Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate. Confined Space Entry Training. Rig Worker Fall Protection. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs). Work Setting: Drilling and well service contractor. Specific Skills: Manipulate sections of pipes or drill stems at rig floor during drilling and during removal and replacement of pipes, drill stems and drill bits. Handle, sort and move drill pipes, tools, cement and other materials. Clean up rig areas. Assist in setting up, taking down and transporting drilling and service rigs and service equipment. Assist other workers to maintain drilling equipment on drill floor. Security and Safety: Driver's validity licence check. Medical exam. Drug test. Own Tools/Equipment: Safety equipment/gear.
