Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Equipment and Machinery Experience: Gas welding machine. Arc welding machine. Spot welding machine. Experience: Experience an asset. Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Welding Techniques: Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG). Gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Work Setting: Manufacture. Specific Skills: Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines. Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment. Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Overtime required. Type of Materials: Steel, iron and heavy metals. Personal Suitability: Effective interpersonal skills. Team player.
