Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Mechanical Repairer Specific Skills: Test and adjust units to specifications. Complete reports to record problems and work performed. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit. Repair or replace mechanical units or components. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Work Site Environment: Dusty. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Work Location Information: In shop. Automotive Service Technician Specific Skills: Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems. Perform scheduled maintenance service. Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications. Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor. Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicles and test automotive systems and components. Personal Suitability: Flexibility. Accurate. Team player. Dependability. Reliability.
