Work Setting: Hobby/crafts/novelty store. Textile Products for Inspection, Grading or Sampling: Yarn. Specific Skills: Unpack goods received. Resolve work related problems. Prepare bills of lading, invoices and other shipping documents. Pack goods to be shipped. Operate cash register. Operate computerized inventory record keeping and re-ordering systems. Maintain internal record-keeping system. Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents. Determine method of shipment. Affix identifying information and shipping instructions on shipments. Greet customers and discuss type, quality and quantity of merchandise or services sought for purchase, rental or lease. Prepare merchandise for purchase, rental or lease. Prepare sales, rental or leasing contracts and accept cash, cheque, credit card or automatic debit payment. Assist in display of merchandise. Security and Safety: Criminal record check. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods.
