Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. or equivalent experience. Experience: Experience an asset. Area of Specialization: Small animals. Work Setting: Veterinary clinic. Animal hospital. Specific Skills: Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian. Veterinary office management. Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of veterinarian. Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery. Counsel clients on animal health care. Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery. Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals. Security and Safety: Bondable. Immunization records. Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure. Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods. Walking. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Personal Suitability: Initiative.
