Are you motivated to work collaboratively in a team environment? We are currently seeking an Engineering Winter 2023 Co-op Student, to join our Integrated Asset Management Projects and Shutdown team in Thompson, Manitoba. This is a fixed term position for 8 or 12 months Reporting to the Superintendent of Projects and Shutdown, the student will hold a technical and engineering support role in the Project Department. This role will assist the Project Leads in the different phases of the projects from initiation, planning, execution, monitoring control and closure. Although previous experience in mining or an industrial setting is considered an asset, we also appreciate that diversity of thought comes from our differences - and that's what makes us great! As a Co-op student you will : Follow Vale's Safety Policies, Programs and Legislative Standards Demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work Assist project leads in building scope, schedule and budget Collaborate with other departments like; procurement, finance, IT, HR and central engineering services to facilitate the project team in day-to-day operations Assist in preparing different templates for reporting, costing, scheduling and budgeting Collaborate Closely with vendors, suppliers, contractors, consultants, internal and external stakeholders to initiate, expedite and complete the projects' deliverables Prepare project documents, reports and organize folders to ensure all the project documents are up to date Assist in coordinating construction at sites, Mill and Mines as required Initiative and self-motivation to learn the process and move projects forward About You Currently enrolled and in good standing in an engineering program with strong computer skills Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Electrical and Mining disciplines will be considered Previous work experience in an industrial setting would be an asset Strong organizational, interpersonal communication, analytical and problem-solving skills and a proven safety record are essential. Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills Hold a valid driver's license What's in it for You?
