Recreation Programmer The incumbent will: - Design and implement group and individual recreation programs to meet the identified needs and interests of the residents - Work cooperatively with other members of the care team - Participate in care planning, evaluation and documentation - Be able to work occasional evenings and weekends as required The successful applicant will possess: - A post-secondary diploma in Recreation and Leisure, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology or equivalent - Previous recreation experience in a long term care facility or Adult Day Program is preferred - Certification with volunteer management and 2 to 5 years experience in coordinating volunteers would be considered an asset - Demonstrated compliance with and knowledge of safe work practices - Proven communication and interpersonal skills - Demonstrated report writing and documentation skills - Physical ability to perform the essential duties of the job Recreation Programmer Salary Information - The hourly rate range for this position is $26.92 to $28.02. Conditions of Employment The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check dated within two (2) months from date of hire. Additionally, tuberculosis screening will be required in accordance with the LTCH Act (O.Reg. 79/10). Proof of education, qualifications and any other job bona fide requirements will also be collected. All employees working in a Long-Term Care home are required to be fully vaccinated, or have a valid medical exemption, as defined by the Ministry of Long-term Care, as a condition of hire.
