Tasks: Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding. Prepare flooring plans and scheduling. Measure, cut and install carpeting on floors. Prepare tenders and quotations. Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings. Prepare and install hardwood floors. Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings. Conduct moisture, ph, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations. Estimate costs and materials. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Prepare floors for installations. Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants. Installation specialization: Vinyl or resilient tiles. Hardwood strip flooring. Borders or feature strips. Hardwood intricate patterns flooring. Parquet flooring. Rubber sheet goods. Cork flooring. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check.
