Job details
Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Urban area. Relocation costs covered by employer. Specialty hospital and acute care hospital. Tasks: Conduct medical research. Assess patients' diseases or disorders to determine appropriate surgical procedures. Prepare research papers for publication and presentation. Study the nature, cause and development of diseases and the structural and functional changes caused by diseases. Supervise laboratory activities. Act as consultants to other physicians. Diagnose and treat diseases and physiological or psychiatric disorders. Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures. Prescribe medication and treatment and refer patients for surgery. Oversee the preparation of reports. Oversee the analysis of data and information. Establish procedures and implement policies. Consult with boards of directors, senior managers and government officials. Co-ordinate work of doctors, nurses and other staff. Assign, co-ordinate and review projects and programs. Develop evaluation systems to monitor health care services. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations. Supervision: More than 20 people.
