*Palisade Gardens Retirement Residence* *LOCATION: *240 Chapel St, COBOURG, ONT. *POSITION TITLE: *BOOKKEEPER Reporting to the Senior Accountant at Head Office, the Bookkeeper will be responsible for accounts receivable and payables, payroll, resident accounting, head office reporting/correspondence and other monthly financial reporting. *As a bookkeeper you will: * ? Provide exceptional customer service to residents, visitors, service providers and staff. ? Record details of financial transactions through Yardi. ? Prepare all resident billings. Handle payments receipts and all queries concerning billings from residents and/or their families, as well as maintain pre-authorized payment list (PAP). ? Disburse, balance, and replenish facility petty cash funds. ? Prepare and deliver bank deposits. ? Be responsible for accounts receivable/collections and processing all vendor payables. ? Support payroll duties including data entry and preparing payroll and source deductions and union dues for submission. *The ideal candidate for our team will have the following qualifications and skills: * ? Must have a total understanding of bookkeeping practices and sufficient accounting knowledge to determine proper entries, prepare financial reports and statements, and conduct reviews as required. Knowledge of YARDI operating system and ADP payroll system is an asset. ? A post-secondary certificate or diploma in accounting, or a related course. ? Post-secondary education related to payroll administration, or comparable, preferred. ? 3+ years of experience in a similar position with working knowledge of general office operations. ? Experience in Long Term Care with utilization of Yardi is an asset but not required. ? Understanding of banking practices and sufficient accounting knowledge to determine proper entries. ? Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have exceptional time management skills. ? Also, other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Corporate Office or the Management Team at Palisade Gardens Retirement Residence. This is a permanent full-time position, we offer a benefit package that includes, dental, drugs, RRSP matching and life insurance, after passing your probation period. We do follow the same Covid-19 protocol that all other Retirement Homes in Ontario follow, at times there will be testing and screening at the front door of the facility.
