Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Fixture manufacturer. Manufacture. Tasks: Set up, program and operate one or more computerized or manual woodworking machines. Fabricate or repair wooden parts for furniture, fixtures and other wood products. Operate preset special purpose woodworking machines to fabricate wood products. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment. Replace parts as required. Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations. Clean and maintain work space. Read and interpret blueprints. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery. Enter codes specifying speed, feed and cut of the toolpath for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools. Equipment and machinery experience: Computerized woodworking machine. Routers. Saws. Computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Own vehicle. Public transportation is not available.
