Android Authority, part of Authority Media, is a leading source of product reviews, how-to guides, product roundups, op-eds, and more on the consumer electronics industry.
We?re seeking a technically minded video production specialist who can take our raw data and translate it into compelling video, driven by a data-led narrative. By letting data and experience do the talking, we don?t merely tell people what they need to know, we show it.
We?re currently looking for a full-time staff member to help us improve our product testing and data-driven content on our site, video, and social media channels. We particularly need video experts who have serious technical know-how. Preference will be accorded to video editors that have experience in the field, and have demonstrated experience working with consumer electronics, testing them, debugging, and resolving issues and reporting on them.
Duties:
* Up to 40 hours a week
* Write, shoot, edit, and publish several long-form and short-form videos on a weekly basis to various social media platforms (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) for Android Authority and other Authority Media subsidiaries
* Coordinate with the Executive Editor and Head of Video Production in conceptualizing and executing video ideas
* Coordinate with editors to write and revise video scripts
* Organize, maintain, and create purchase orders for video production assets including camera and lighting equipment
* Operate and maintain video production IT infrastructure including TrueNAS and Synology-based servers
* Analyze analytics and traffic on all social media platforms in order to create informed decisions on content direction
* Run benchmarks and tests on various consumer technologies including smartphones, computers, headphones, and cables
* Train and coordinate with camera operators during video content production
Skills requirements:
* Must be comfortable on-camera
* Must have a university degree in media/video/film production
* Must have at least three years of media production experience
* Must have over five years of experience using Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Audition
* Must have experience operating and maintaining TrueNAS and Synology infrastructure
* Must have experience operating Total Phase cable testing products, including the Advanced Cable Tester v2 and USB Power Delivery Tester.
* Must have knowledge of server infrastructure and web protocols
* Must have experience benchmarking and testing various consumer electronic devices, including smartphones, laptops, and cables
* Must demonstrate deep technical understanding of consumer electronics and audio
* Must have experience writing for a tech site
* Must have experience using YouTube Studio for research and viewership analysis
Nice-to-haves:
* Prior experience running social media campaigns
* Prior experience using Instagram Insights
* Prior experience using Adobe Premiere Rush
Job Type: Full-time
