Here is an opportunity to join a dynamic team who come together each summer to provide memorable, meaningful, and fun camp experiences for guests with intellectual disabilities. Owned and operated by Community Living Toronto, Shadow Lake is a bustling summer home-away-from-home for over 500 guests with special needs and over 80 staff members. We are currently seeking an *Overnight Awake Coordinator.* The Overnight Awake Coordinator is responsible for supervising the overnight awake team and ensuring guests are receiving the appropriate care. The Overnight Awake team reports to Overnight Awake Coordinator. Responsibilities: * Provide direct support to overnight awake team * Provide breaks to their team * Match up cabins with most suitable staff * Intervene in emergencies at night * Contact on-call support for emergencies over the course of the night * Enforcing and upholding Community Living Toronto policies and Shadow Lake Centre policies * Ensuring open communication with families, caregivers, guests and staff * Working collaboratively with your peers on the senior staff team * Document any incidents that occur and oversee staff?s documentation * Facilitate and attend meetings with senior staff and Overnight staff team * Assist with training week and ongoing training Requirement: * 1+ year working at Shadow Lake, or other equivalent experience, First Aid/CPR certified Experience in working with people with disabilities is beneficial but not required. We provide skill-building and training opportunities and are always looking for enthusiastic, caring, and dedicated staff. Prior to the first day of camp, all staff participate in a week-long training program, and on-line orientation. Everyone is required to obtain a police check prior to starting work. Candidates must pass a medical and be free of contagious disease in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and maintain appropriate immunizations. Should a candidate be unable to vaccinate for bona fide human rights related reasons as protected by the Ontario Human Rights Code, Community Living Toronto will assess whether or not accommodation is possible without undue hardship based on the obligations of this position.
