*The Opportunity: *
The _Walking With Our Relatives_ program is a culturally grounded response team working in partnership with Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) to create Pathways into Care for Indigenous community members who have experienced sexualized violence.
As a *Registered Social Worker*, you will be a vital member of our Indigenous-led response team, offering trauma-informed, culturally safe, and consent-based support to individuals (referred to as _relatives_) who come into Ka Ni Kanichihk following experiences of sexualized violence.
You will play a key role in helping relatives feel empowered, respected, and connected to both traditional and clinical supports. Working collaboratively with health services such as Klinic and the Health Sciences Centre, as well as Traditional Healers and Knowledge Keepers, you will walk alongside each relative on their healing journey.
*What You Will Be Doing?*
· Provide respectful, high-quality, and culturally appropriate crisis intervention and support services.
· Act as a first responder to referrals from the community and clinical partners.
· Establish safe, trusting relationships and develop individual care and support plans.
· Conduct assessments and work collaboratively with relatives to establish treatment strategies.
· Support relatives in navigating community, cultural, and clinical systems of care.
· Provide transportation and support communication between services and relatives.
· Offer follow-up care, including check-ins, advocacy, and linkage to long-term supports.
· Maintain detailed, confidential documentation and records in alignment with best practices.
· Promote a sex-positive, harm reduction, and decolonial approach to care.
*Qualifications*
· Registered Social Worker in good standing with appropriate regulatory body.
· Post-secondary education in Social Services, Community Health, or related field.
· Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience, preferably in trauma-informed or crisis response settings.
· Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous cultures, spiritual practices, and traditions.
· Strong knowledge of sex positivity, harm reduction, decolonization, and trauma-informed care.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy, warmth, and respect.
· Skilled in navigating both community-based and clinical support systems.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management software.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
· Must possess a valid driver?s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
· Clear Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Child and Adult Abuse Registry Check are required.
