Education: Bachelor's degree. Tasks: Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children. Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants. Review programs to ensure conformance to school board or provincial standards. Maintain internal record-keeping system. Hire and train staff. Ensure compliance with government regulations. Provide assistance to students with special needs. Maintain clean and safe work environment. Liaise with the inmates' families and contacts in the community. Collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs. Discuss results and students' progress with them, their parents and school officials. Coordinate projects and programs. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Child development supervisor (ECE level 3). Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate. First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers . Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for mature workers . Offers phased retirement options that allow mature workers to gradually reduce their workload (for example: flexible or reduced work hours, part time employment, project-based or seasonal work, etc.) . Offers phased re-entry options for mature workers who are returning to work after retiring (for example: gradually increasing hours and responsibilities) .
