Education: College/CEGEP. Civil engineering technology/technician. Surveying technology/surveying. Civil drafting and civil engineering CAD/CADD. or equivalent experience. Consulting firm. Tasks: Plan and design water and waste management systems. Act as project or site supervisor for land survey or construction work. Conduct site visits to gather relevant information . Conduct technical analyses of survey and field data for development of topographic, soil, hydrological or other information and prepare reports. Confer with clients and other members of the engineering team and conduct research to determine project requirements. Ensure construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations. Establish and monitor construction work schedules. Interpret, review and approve survey and civil design work. Prepare contract documents and review and evaluate tenders for construction projects. Provide customer service. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Computer and technology knowledge: AutoCAD. Image editing software. MS Office. Mapping and data visualization software. Autodesk REVIT. MS Excel. Area of work experience: Design. Construction specialization: Industrial, commercial and institutional. Irrigation and drainage. Urban planning. Residential construction. Municipal specialization: Sewers and sewage treatment. Storm drainage and control. Water control system and structures.
