Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Business and/or industry. Tasks: Prepare bills of lading, invoices and other shipping documents. Assemble containers and crates. Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents. Record shortages and reject damaged goods. Route goods to appropriate storage areas. Unpack goods received. Operate a variety of equipment to load, unload and move materials and products. Direct and oversee the loading and unloading of cargo. Determine appropriate selection of materials and methods for hazardous locations. Make labels and attach to goods. Record the quantity, type and value of stock on hand using computerized or manual inventory system. Assign classification and metadata codes to records.
