Job details
Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. Work setting: On-site customer service. Tasks: Install and overhaul heating systems. Install refrigeration systems. Troubleshoot heating systems. Troubleshoot ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components. Coach and instruct apprentices. Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment. Provide customer service. Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices. Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system. Interpret gas codes. Handle, recover and store refrigerants. Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Red Seal Certificate. Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Control systems: Electrical devices. Air conditioning and refrigeration systems: Rooftop (self-contained). Heat pump. Filtration. Built up (split system). Ventilation. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence.
