Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Various locations. Commercial. Residential. Tasks: Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Prepare tenders and quotations. Instruct apprentices. Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors. Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges. Supervise other workers. Estimate costs and materials. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Backflow prevention Certification. Plumber Trade Certification. Working at heights training. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Confined Space Entry Training. Plumber Red Seal Certificate. Gas Fitter Red Seal Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Apprenticeship training: Level two apprenticeship training.
