The Burnaby School District is seeking an Education Assistant to work at the BC School for the Deaf (BCSD). <p>Education Assistants are responsible for providing support in the classroom, around the school, and within the community. Specifically, assistance is provided in the following:<p> Behaviour management<p> Curriculum implementation<p> Social skills development<p> Personal care<p> Physical assistance<p>To be considered, candidates must have the following:<p>Required Qualifications: <p> Successful completion of a recognized program in special needs assistance;<p> One (1) year of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of training and/or<p>experience.<p> Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)<p>Hours of Work = 30 per week <p>Rate of Pay = $34.09 If you are passionate about supporting students to succeed and pride yourself in promoting an inclusive environment, we want to hear from you.<p>Application Process: <p>Applications will only be accepted through Make A Future (www.makeafuture.ca)<p>Please submit a complete application package, which includes your resume, cover letter, references, and any supporting documentation including proof of completion of program and any related courses/certificates (i.e. POPARD, NVCI, etc.).The Burnaby School District values inclusion and embraces diversity as a strength.
