This position is for a research scientist position focused on developing and utilizing closed loop autonomous research processes to deliver CanmetMATERIALs program objectives. The incumbent will, in consultation with research scientists and technologists and in direct support of program objectives, develop and apply artificial intelligence, modelling, experimental automation and data management practices in materials science, as required to meet program objectives. The incumbent will participate in and lead projects; supervising technicians, engineers, science support and scientists using the CanmetMATERIALS facilities. They will advise on automation and artificial intelligence methods, instruct others in applications of these technologies as required, and lead in the interpretation of results. Their research will contribute to the economic and environmental success of Canadian industry, and to the quality of life of Canadians derived from the value-added use of materials.- LocationMississauga, ON
