Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Medical clinic. Tasks: Assess patients' physical abilities. Assist during assessment of patients and carry out treatment programs and develop materials for use with patients. Assist health care professionals. Carry out treatment programs, under the direction of physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists, to rehabilitate patients with various injuries or disabilities. Administer evaluative tests and procedures. Clean and maintain equipment. Plan physiotherapy programs. Select appropriate exercises, apparatus and manipulations. Conduct research in physiotherapy. Document patient rehabilitation progress. Perform general clerical duties. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulatory Boards Examination. Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Area of specialization: Physiotherapy. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Hand-eye co-ordination. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Attention to detail. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Interpersonal awareness. Reliability.
