Fort Vermilion School Division<p>Our Children, Our Students, Our Future: Moving the Dial on Every ChildThe Fort Vermilion School Division invites applications for the position of Literacy Coordinator. <p>The Fort Vermilion School Division prioritizes student improvement in literacy skills across all content areas. To implement strategies to strengthen and develop student skills, the division will be employing a literacy coordinator for each individual school in the upcoming 2024-25 school year. The coordinators will be responsible for delivering literacy professional development within the School Division. <p>Duties: Work collaboratively with the Principal on goals and the School Assurance Plan<p> Plan and design lessons collaboratively with teacher(s)<p> Co-teach lessons with teachers<p> Debrief lessons providing actionable feedback to teachers.<p> Develop and build the capacity of teachersRequired Qualifications: Be in possession of, or eligible for, an Alberta teaching certificate<p> Have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience<p> The ability to work in a team environment and take direction<p> The ability to travel and demonstrate flexibility of schedule<p> The ability to facilitate Literacy professional development<p> Deep understanding of Literacy AssessmentsPreferred Qualifications: Experienced in facilitating professional development to teachers<p> Previous instructional leadership experience<p> Completed or working on a Master's program in Curriculum/Instruction/LiteracyOur School Division: FVSD serves approximately 4,000 students from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds in fifteen well-equipped, safe, and caring schools and a Home Education Center, all located in several Northwest Alberta communities.<p> We are governed by a nine member Board which directs and monitors performance using a policy model of governance.<p> We are customer-driven, learner-focused and results-oriented.<p> We use progressive, innovative, and technological means to support our motto Our Children, Our Students, Our Future: Moving the Dial on Every Child.<p> More information about the Fort Vermilion School Division can be found at https://www.fvsd.ab.ca/about-usSpecific details regarding this position may be obtained from FVSD's Human Resource department, at 780 927 3766 or hr@fvsd.ab.ca<p>Visit our web site, Staff Agreements & Benefits | Fort Vermilion School Division (fvsd.ab.ca), to view our Collective Agreement for salary and benefits information.
