Education: College/CEGEP. Opticianry/ophthalmic dispensing optician. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Obtain specifications for eyeglasses and contact lenses from a prescription prepared by an ophthalmologist or optometrist. Assist clients in selecting eyeglasses. Advise on use and care of contact lenses. Cut and edge lenses and fit lenses into frames. Adjust finished eyeglasses to fit client. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment.
