Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Repair or replace defective machinery parts. Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up. Perform routine maintenance work on machinery. Operate machining tools to fabricate parts. Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Installing machinery and equipment. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Commission systems and components. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification. Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement. Welder Trade Certification. Welding techniques: Flux core arc welding (FCAW). Gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Equipment and machinery experience: Electrical and electronic controls. Hydraulic system. Lathes and other machining tools. Monorails. Pneumatic system. Power tools. Tool grinders. Welding equipment. Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
