Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Urban area. Office of health care professional. Tasks: Assist health care professionals. Carry out treatment programs, under the direction of physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists, to rehabilitate patients with various injuries or disabilities. Follow through on treatment programs with patients. Position patients for treatments by chiropractor or machine. Set up and dismantle equipment. Clean and maintain equipment. Assist chiropractor with patient health education. Process claims such as health insurance or workers compensation. Maintain supplies. Assist chiropractor with physical examinations. Perform general clerical duties. Process files and paperwork. Schedule and confirm appointments. Manage routine office functions including reception, telephone and booking appointments.
