Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Odours. Dusty. Hot. Cold/refrigerated. Confined spaces. Outdoors. Work setting: Construction. On-site customer service. Maintenance. Relocation costs not covered by employer. Commercial. Installation. Residential. Willing to relocate. Machine set-up. Tasks: Select type of insulation required. Instruct apprentices. Measure and cut insulating materials to required shape and dimensions using hand and power tools. Apply and secure insulation using spraying, blowing, pasting, strapping, taping and other application and installation methods. Fit insulation around obstructions and between joists and studs. Install vapour barriers and fire-retardant materials. Supervise other workers. Brush waterproofing cement or other material over insulating materials. Assemble, erect and dismantle scaffolding, rigging and hoisting equipment. Equipment and machinery experience: Thermal spray equipment. Area of specialization: Spraying and blowing insulation. Fire stopping and fireproofing. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Manual dexterity. Overtime required.
