Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Tasks: Compute dimensions, sizes, shapes and tolerances of workpieces . Inspect final products. Set up machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders. Test prototypes and production tools. Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Program CNC machine tools. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Set up and operate electrical discharge machines (EDM). Lay out, shape and assemble patterns of metal, wood, plastic and other materials from blueprints, models or templates. Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Perform preventive maintenance. Check manufactured items for defects and conformance to specifications. Maintain clean and safe work environment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Tool and Die Maker Trade Certification. Mould Maker Trade Certification. Computer and technology knowledge: Mastercam CAD/CAM. SolidWorks software. Metal mould-making experience: Injection moulds. Tool and die fabrication experience: Jigs and fixtures. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Personal suitability: Accurate. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent written communication.
