Education: Bachelor's degree. Architectural engineering. Geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering. Structural engineering. Civil engineering, other. Work setting: Office. Consulting engineering company. Tasks: Conduct economic analyses. Conduct feasibility studies. Plan and design bridges. Plan and design highway/roadway projects. Act as project or site supervisor for land survey or construction work. Conduct technical analyses of survey and field data for development of topographic, soil, hydrological or other information and prepare reports. Confer with clients and other members of the engineering team and conduct research to determine project requirements. Develop construction specifications and procedures. Ensure construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations. Establish and monitor construction work schedules. Interpret, review and approve survey and civil design work. Prepare contract documents and review and evaluate tenders for construction projects. Provide customer service. Supervise technicians, technologists and other engineers and review and approve designs, calculations and cost estimates. Supervision: 5-10 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Project Management Professional (PMP). Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office.
