Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Estimating. Willing to relocate. Video production. Construction. Level of expertise: Video editor. Tasks: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Operate CADD and other computer software systems. Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads. Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bids forms. Advise on tendering procedures. Analyze tenders and recommend awards. Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems. Monitor and adjust contract expenditures. Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors. Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Write technical reports. Develop and prepare design sketches. Complete documentation packages and drawing sets. Prepare and interpret engineering design, drawings and specifications. Prepare written material such as reports, briefs, website content. Design and integrate website related code. Design methods: Drafting. Computer and technology knowledge: Estimating packages.
