Education: Earned doctorate degree. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders. May conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods. Prescribe medication and treatment . Refer patients for surgery. Treat diseases and physiological disorders . Prepare research papers for publication and presentation. Act as consultants to other physicians. Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC). Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II). Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination. Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Specialization in clinical medicine: Pediatrics. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Screening questions: Are you available for shift or on-call work?.
