Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: French essential and spoken EnglishNOTE: Applicants must attach a resume to their application.JOB SUMMARY:Reporting to the department head/manager or their delegate, the rehabilitation assistant helps the physiotherapists and occupational therapists by performing various clinical and technical duties related to treatment, to restore, maintain or improve the functional independence level of patients. This work may be performed with or without a health professional present after the necessary instructions are given. The incumbent must also prepare, organize, and clean equipment and supplies and ensure that workspaces are clean and tidy. The work also involves taking part in planning and implementing activities for the department or programs and may include quality improvement and risk management activities, compilation of statistics, orientation of new employees and clinical training of students. The rehabilitation assistant works with inpatient and outpatient clients of all ages. REQUIREMENTS: High school graduation or general education diploma (GED), plus an additional rehabilitation program/course of over one year and up to two years or equivalent; Experience working with children with special needs (educational assistants, autism workers) would be an asset;Current BLS Certificate or be available to follow it;Practical computer knowledge; Verbal and written communication skills; Initiative and good judgment as well as having a sense of responsibility; Skills in effective time management and customer focus; Own a vehicle and have a good driving record; Ability to work independently and as a team member;Physical ability to perform assigned duties;Good previous work history (performance and attendance);Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.NOTE:The selected person will need to travel to other hospital facilities in Zone 4 as per operational requirements.The above requirements may be verified through oral, written or practical tests during the selection process.Should there be no fully qualified applicants, this position will not necessarily be reposted.
