Job details
Education: Bachelor's degree. Tasks: Evaluate the effectiveness of social programs . Interview client individually, in families, or in groups, to assess their situation and problems to determine the types of services required . Take authorized protective action when necessary. Perform administrative tasks. Provide counsel and therapy to help clients resolve social and personal problems. Plan programs of assistance for clients. Refer clients to agencies that provide financial assistance, legal aid, housing, medical treatment and other services. Provide public education and consultation regarding counselling services, issues and methods. Conduct social research. Write research papers, educational texts and articles. Apply for social program funding. Deliver presentations at conferences, workshops or symposia. Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and the patient's outcomes. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Provincial certificate of registration. Membership in a provincial association of social workers. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Attention to detail. Large caseload. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years. Support for newcomers and refugees: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees. Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.) . Support for youths: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth. Support for Indigenous people: Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations . Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers .
