This position is a market gardener at Valley Roots Market Garden. We are located on Taylor Beach, Katepwa Lake. The applicant will be expected to do many different tasks throughout the season. These task are the following; seeding, weeding, watering, seedling care, transplanting, tilling, greenhouse work, general garden maintenance, working in the vertical farm, harvesting, packaging, tending to the sales desk, customer relations, attending farmers markets, maintaining and cleaning the food safe building. This position is dynamic, challenging and rewarding. As the season changes, so do the job requirements. This makes for an interesting summer job. This position will include heavy lifting and can be physically demanding. A drivers licence is also required. The position will have one on one training and can include a mentorship role if interested. Current enrolment in horticultural programming and food safe experience will be an advantage.
