Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Determine the size of food portions and costs. Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods. Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances. Inspect kitchens and food service areas. Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food. Supervise kitchen staff and helpers. Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment. Clean kitchen and work areas. Manage kitchen operations. Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year. Support for newcomers and refugees: Does not require Canadian work experience. Support for youths: Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth. Support for Indigenous people: Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers . Support for mature workers: Applies hiring policies that discourage age discrimination .
