As a focused and dynamic team, we are open to new ideas and looking for energetic individuals to join our growth. *The Opportunity:* The Sous Chef is responsible for working with the General Manager and the Regional Food Services Manager to support the operation of the kitchen. This includes, ordering ingredients, producing meals for residents, and using production checks and standardized recipes. *Responsibilities:* * Responsible for maintaining high standards of quality food production, storage control and portion control. * Ensures maintenance, cleanliness and proper usage of all equipment in production area. * Orders food and kitchen supplies and monitors inventory, while also minimizing waste. * Receives deliveries and checks receipts against specifications and orders. * Executes and maintains new food programs and policies as set out by corporate. * Maintains health and safety standards. * Supervises sanitation and housekeeping functions in this area. * Supervising the food services department, including scheduling and other admin duties * Other duties as assigned. *Qualifications:* * Previous experience in a volume food preparation environment in the Health Care or Hospitality industries. * Preferred Red Seal or current equivalent qualifications as a Cook from a recognized cooking program. * Food Safe Certificates I and II required. * First Aide Certification (Asset).
