Expectations include attendance, and proper handling of artifacts. The Historic Interpreter will also be asked to assist with museum special events during the course of employment.
Provide front-line customer service for the museum, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and acting as a liaison with community partners.
Research and develop museum-related programs and services as requested by the Museum Curator.
Oversees the care, display and information about the objects in their areas. Carefully watches the safety and condition of objects on display.
Assist in organizing and documentation of the museum catalogue using museum specific Past Perfect software. (training provided)
Ensure all museum Rules and Health and Safety are observed and followed.
Keep a Daily Diary of events, issues and ideas to be reviewed by a Board member weekly
Support the delivery of museum events, meetings and programming initiatives including set-up, monitoring, and tear down along with site-supervision to ensure events are conducted in a safe manner and museum property and assets are safe and secure.
Provide basic care, cleaning and maintenance of buildings and museum property including tables, floors, washrooms, garbage, walkways and grounds and maintain a clear access to all building entrances and exits as required.

? Ability to work with diverse audiences including children, families, volunteers, and older adults
? Strong written and communication skills. A Second language would be beneficial but not required.
? Experience with Windows applications (Word and Excel)

? Possess customer service and office experience including phone etiquette.
