*Organization*: Brock Mission Emergency Shelters. Brock Mission is a non-profit organization that provides emergency shelter to men and women who are experiencing homelessness. Brock Mission also provides food, advocacy, support and referrals to appropriate services within the community. Brock Mission operates on a 24/7, 365 days a year basis. We are currently hiring for the following; *Job Title: Resident Care Worker Full time and part time positions available* *The successful applicant would?* - Have (or be in the process of completing) a diploma in Social Service Worker, Mental Health and Addiction Worker or related field -Be flexible -Have excellent administrative skills -Have excellent communication skills -Be self-motivated - Be able to work well independently, as well as part of a team - Be willing and able to work shift work *(Day, Evening, Overnight)* -Be proficient with computers such as e-mail and Microsoft office - Be able to engage, respectfully and appropriately, with individuals who have complexities Such as; homelessness, addictions, mental health, acquired brain injury, low cognitive functioning etc? - Be sensitive to diversity - Be able to manage crisis situations effectively - Be emotionally mature - Be empathetic - Have consistent and healthy boundaries when working with vulnerable populations *Responsibilities include, but not limited to:* -Completing client intakes -Supporting clients in their search for housing -Administrative duties such as photocopying, filing and answering phones - Preparing and serving meals - Completing required documentation such as log notes/case notes/serious occurrences - Completing custodial duties - Collaborating with community agencies and co-workers -Following client care plans *Details of position* -The position will start as soon as possible -Full time and part time overnight positions available *If you are interested in the position, please forward your Cover letter and Resume through Indeed as soon as possible to:* *Nicole Lacey*-Hiring Manager *Only those selected for an interview will be contacted* Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: From $21.84 per hour Benefits: * Dental care * Extended health care Schedule: * 12 hour shift * 8 hour shift * Night shift * Weekends as needed Work Location: In person Expected start date: 2025-05-15
