*Position Overview *
Varis Mine Technology Ltd is currently searching for an Accountant to focus on reporting and measuring of our company information and assets. The candidate will also analyze financial information critical to our business interest, prepare and present financial reports to Management to enable knowledge-based decision making. The accountant will be working as a key member of a high-energy admin team with a focus on implementing policies and procedures for the company. *Essential Job Functions *
* Accounts Payable and vendor payments
* Vendor setup and maintenance
* Maintain cash position
* Post Inventory adjustments
* Fixed Assets setup and maintenance
* Reconcile Sub-ledgers to General Ledger accounts monthly including research and resolution of discrepancies.
* Prepare bank reconciliations monthly.
* Participate in Month End, Quarter End, and Year End Closings
* Communicate with team members from other functional areas as well as external sources.
* Comply with internal controls and best practices, assist in other accounting projects as requested.
* Assist in the preparation of year-end audit working papers
* Assist in other administrative duties as assigned.
*Education / Experience Requirements *
*Qualifications*
* University Degree in accounting required.
* CPA Designation or enrollment in CPA Program.
* 3+ Years experience in a similar accounting role.
* Knowledge of Canadian accounting principles (ASPE/IFRS).
*Job Requirements*
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with use of Pivot Tables and other advanced formulas.
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Experienced with ERP system, MS Dynamics BC preferred
* Working with admin team to accomplish reporting requirements.
* Oversee the admin departments accounting functions.
* Knowledge of analytical reporting and financial controls
