Job details
Education: College/CEGEP. Work setting: Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Chronic or long-term care facilities/centres. Tasks: Administer medications. Ensure infection control. Observe and record medication's therapeutic and side effects . Record medication's therapeutic and side effects observations in patient files. Take vital signs. Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures. Monitor patients' progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate. CPR Certificate. Area of specialization: Palliative care. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Child Abuse Registry check. Immunization records. Vulnerable sector check.
