Located at the landmark of Belleville, IHOP is a busy breakfast restaurant. We are currently seeking highly enthusiastic candidates to fulfill the position of Cook/ Prep Cook to join our team. As a team member at IHOP, you would be working on a variety of stations in a high-volume kitchen environment. Summary We are looking for someone to work as a team player, contribute to the overall excellence of our restaurant, follow all food and safety guidelines to ensure we delight our guests with delicious food from our menu. Responsibilities: * Maintaining a sanitized, clean and well-organized kitchen. * Preparing workstations for cooking and maintaining kitchen equipment. * Prepare, season, and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required. * Checking the quality of the ingredients. * Follow recipes and presentation specifications. * Managing food storage, stock, and ingredient orders. * Comply with health, sanitation, and safety guidelines. * Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies and equipment. * Perform other assignments or tasks as assigned by the Manager. * Store, prepare, cook, and properly plate all food, following all regulations. * Maintaining cleanliness and safety of all food procedures of the kitchen and reporting any discrepancies. * Ensuring high standard of cleanliness and setting up the workstation * Practices sanitary and safe food handling at all times. * All other duties assigned by management. Job Requirements: * Must have kitchen experience & the desire to learn and grow. * Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during stressful and/or busy times. * Multitasking, organizational and time management skills. * Knowledge of industry standards on food storage and handling techniques is highly desirable. * Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
