Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Odours. Tasks: Diagnose and isolate faults on engines and motors. Discuss work with supervisor. Document inspections and tests made on engines and motors. Estimate repair costs. Adjust, repair or replace parts using hand tools and equipment. Test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance. Perform scheduled maintenance service on equipment. Test power equipment and systems . Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Small Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification. Equipment and machinery experience: Diesel engines. Garden tractors. Gasoline-powered equipment. Lawn mowers. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Ability to distinguish between colours. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Safety glasses/goggles. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Judgement. Organized. Reliability. Team player.
