Urban Nature Store is seeking a part-time Team Member for our Kingston store located at 645 Gardiners Road. Required Skills and Qualifications * 1 year of retail or service related experience (Pet, birding or garden sector experience would be an asset) * An interest in wild birding * Strong retail merchandising skills * Open availability - Days, evenings & weekends. * Ability to read, write and speak English * Basic math skills as it relates to retail sales * Intermediate computer skills * Ability to work independently * Ability to lift 50 lbs bags * Have a reliable means of transportation to and from the store * Enthusiasm for learning and personal growth. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will be responsible for: * interacting with customers and providing superior customer service, including recommending appropriate products and demonstrating their proper usage. * processing transactions on a computerized POS system * accepting all forms of payments (cash, debit, credit) * processing returns and exchanges * assisting with the maintenance of several Google spreadsheets * promotion of our loyalty rewards program * receiving bi-weekly shipments * filling seed from master to smaller bags * maintaining a clean, organized and well-merchandised store Job Types: Part-time, Permanent Pay: From $17.20 per hour Expected hours: 10 ? 20 per week Benefits: * On-site parking * Store discount Flexible language requirement: * French not required Shift: * Afternoon shift * Day shift * Morning shift Work days: * Monday to Friday * Weekends as needed Education: * Secondary School (required) Experience: * POS: 1 year (required) * Retail sales: 1 year (required) Language: * English (required) Work Location: In person
